# Summary

LAST UPDATED: August 4, 2022

There are five APIs that will integrate with the Issuer's platform for the initial launch. They form the core flow for the Network Loyalty API experience.

* Loyalty Customer Management - Create Profile: When a Customer acquires an eligible American Express® Card from their Issuer, specific information must be sent to the R42 Platform to create the Customer profile. This activates the Customer's eligibility to enroll in Elite - Tier Benefits and to perform the Points Transfer.
* Benefit:
* Get Benefits: The Issuer can call the API to receive a list of the Customer's subscribed benefits, not yet subscribed benefits, or total available benefits based on search criteria. This API response must be decrypted by the Issuer.
* Subscribe Benefits: Customers can enroll in the Elite - Tier Benefit status based on the Card benefits. This is achieved by contacting the Issuer. The Issuer's, or Service Provider's, platform will send the benefit subscription request to R42 to contact the Partner and enroll the Customer's Partner Loyalty account in the particular benefit tier.
* Points Transfer: Customers can transfer their Issuer's Points to a specific travel benefit provider's Loyalty Program, based on their Card eligibility. The Issuer, or their Concierge Provider, calls the points transfer API to send the request to the R42 Platform, which then contacts the benefit provider.
* Notification: A webhook must be implemented by each Issuer and their Concierge Provider's platform, in order for the Issuer and their Concierge Providers to receive the final status of a profile creation, points transfer, or benefit subscription event/request sent to the R42 Platform. The final status includes a success or error code, related to the response from the benefit provider.
* Crypto: Data passed between American Express® and the Issuer is encrypted. The Issuer retrieves a key from the crypto API which is used to encrypt/decrypt API payloads.

Our solution gives Issuers the ability to customize the UI experience and User view in order to keep the journey consistent across all the Issuer's UIs. We do not provide a UI for Servicing Agents to use; only the backend service that only the Issuer or their Concierge Providers platform connects to. This enables the Issuer or their Concierge Provider to design the UI per the Customer needs, with the UI backend connected to the R42 Platform.
